  • Three students qualified for 2009 national competitions – two to the Technology Student Association (TSA) and one to the Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA).

  • The High School cheerleaders placed 9th in the 2009 state competition.

  • High School student named as a Commended Student in the 2009 National Merit Scholarship Program.

  • Two wrestlers placed 4th and 7th in the state at the 2009 competition.

  • $10,000 grant for the development of the first ever all-female team to research, design, and build a fuel efficient car to compete in the 2010 Shell Eco-Marathon Americas® contest.

  • Dave Bianchini named the 2008 Washington State Assistant Middle School Principal of the Year.

  • Monte Cristo Elementary music teacher Andrea Peterson named the 2007 National Teacher of the Year.

  • Nine teachers have earned National Board Certification.

  • 2007 National Science to Service Award winner for Substance Abuse Prevention.

  • Successful passage of a $30 million dollar bond issue for a state-of-the-art high school that opened January 2008.

  • Granite Falls High School named the 2007 and 2008 Snohomish County Officials Host School of the Year.

  • Boy’s baseball team 2006 state champions.

  • Recipient of $330,000 U.S. Department of Education Mentoring Grant.

  • Recipient of $250,000 Building Bridges Grant.

  • Successful passage of a four-year program and operation levy and a four-year technology and school improvement levy (passed February 2008)

  • Over 60 percent of our staff members have earned a masters degree.

  • The district supports an early learning center for preschool age children and a complete program for disabled and at-risk students. Vocational education, gifted education, computer technology, the arts and advanced placement courses support a strong basic skills curriculum. Co-curricular programs for grades 7-12 play a vital role in student development.
